Liberty University Recycling

Welcome to Liberty University Recycling!
Help us lead the way in recycling stewardship! Explore our campus recycling and waste programs and discover opportunities to make a difference. Together, we can build a more sustainable future — every action counts!
Our Core Values

Our founder and current president’s saying, “If it’s Christian, it ought to be better,” and “If it’s Christian, it ought to be Christian,” This has inspired our team to promote becoming better environmental stewards.
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the LORD and not for men”
Colossians 3:23
Steward Our Land
As followers of Christ, we are commanded to care for our land. We do this through recycling and managing the waste on campus.
“The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and keep it.”
Genesis 2:15

We want to do good for all people! These include those disposing of the waste/recycling and custodial and grounds workers who handle its disposal.
“So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
Galatians 6:10
Recycling 101

- You can recycle plastic bottles, aluminum cans, paper, and cardboard at recycling stations or recycling drop-off enclosures.
- Recycling stations are located all across campus in academic, recreational, and sporting facilities.
- Recycling drop-off enclosures are located outdoors beside residential halls.
- Please make sure that the recyclable items are empty and clean from food & liquid.
- Glass and plastic bags are not currently recyclable at LU.
- Please dispose of glass in the waste, and take your plastic bags to local grocery stores.
- Please do not bag your recyclables. Instead, sort your loose recyclables in blue recycling toters, recycling stations, etc.
- Make sure to flatten your cardboard before placing them in the cardboard dumpster, or cart.
