The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Theatre Arts – Production and Design program at Liberty University offers you a flexible education, with multiple free electives so you can tailor your degree to fit your interests. This program is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in a variety of roles within the theatre industry, with a particular emphasis on technical aspects of theatre production such as costume, lighting, and site-specific design.

As a student in the Bachelor of Science in Theatre Arts – Production and Design program, you’ll take courses in acting, directing, Christian aesthetics in theatre, and other fine arts topics while also gaining hands-on experience in the various aspects of theatre production technology. Completing this degree residentially provides you with the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the program and the theatre community at Liberty University, where you’ll have access to state-of-the-art facilities and work closely with experienced and knowledgeable faculty members who are passionate about theatre.

  • Our students received a research grant to write and perform Bloodroot: The Ballad of Clinch Mountain, a play highlighting the achievements of women in both its content and production.

  • We offer a Washington Fellowship program, which allows you to spend a semester gaining invaluable experience working in the heart of D.C.

Admission Requirements for Our Undergraduate Degree Programs

Every application is reviewed by the admission committee on a case-by-case basis, meaning there are no set minimums for acceptance. However, all applicants must submit the following documents* for admission:

  • Admission application
  • Official high school transcripts
  • Official college transcripts (if applicable)
  • Results from the CLT, SAT, or ACT are not required for admission, but may be used in consideration for merit-based aid.
  • Admission essay
