B.A. in History and M.A. in History
Use Your Passion for the Past to Propel You into the Future with a Dual B.A./M.A. Degree in History
John Jay Chapman said, “One of the deepest impulses in man is the impulse to record, to scratch a drawing on a tusk or keep a diary… The enduring value of the past is, one might say, the very basis of civilization.” Liberty University’s Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History and Master of Arts (M.A.) in History program can help you develop the research and critical thinking skills needed to understand the past and its future implications.
Our B.A. in History can help provide a solid foundation for careers in politics, education, or communications. You’ll have the opportunity to gain knowledge of U.S. and world history, along with valuable research, data analysis, and archival skills. The M.A. program builds on this foundation and can further enhance your writing and research abilities.
Our dual degree program offers foundational and advanced courses designed to help refine your historical skills. Studying history at Liberty can help foster cultural awareness, empathy, research proficiency, and critical reasoning. Our professors emphasize key aspects of historical thought, which can help prepare you for impactful careers or further doctoral studies.
