Biography

Dr. Battige serves as the Chair of Special Education Programs at Liberty University. She began her career as a music teacher in Florida, quickly transitioning to special education, where she worked with students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD) and Intellectual Disabilities (ID) in urban core settings. Dr. Battige’s extensive experience includes numerous leadership roles within both the public and private sectors. She joined Liberty University in 2010 and accepted the chair position in 2022. Dr. Battige is dedicated to mentoring and developing the next generation of educators.
