2025 Commencement Rain Plan
Please take notice of the following information regarding the Commencement exercises. Stay informed by paying attention to the Liberty University website and related social media networks.
Plan for Rain Affecting Williams Stadium Degree Presentation Ceremonies
- If there is rain impacting a Williams Stadium degree presentation ceremony, a decision will be made the morning of the ceremony to either remain outdoors for with the chance of a light shower or move to the Indoor Practice Facility directly adjacent to Williams Stadium.
- Graduates and guests will still be able to utilize the bus transportation system to be dropped off near the facility to enter. You can either use the Green Hall Transportation Center drop off or Gate 1 and walk through Williams Stadium. Staff will be in place to direct graduates and guests to the Indoor Practice Facility.

Plan for Rain Affecting the Main Ceremony on Friday, May 9
- If there is rain in the forecast for the Main Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 9, University officials and local weather contacts will be watching the forecast closely to determine the impact to the Main Ceremony.
- If there is light rain or a passing shower in the forecast, the ceremony will remain as it is scheduled, and ponchos will be provided.
- If there are thunderstorms or downpours forecasted, a decision will be made on if there is a better time to have the ceremony during the weekend and update the schedule accordingly. Decisions will be made as early as possible and communicated to graduates and guests if there is an adjustment that needs to be made.
