LU ONE and ISC sponsor trip to Museum of the Bible
LU ONE and the International Student Center sponsored a trip to the Museum of the Bible located in Washington, D.C. over fall break. 50 students and faculty left campus early on Saturday, Oct. 12 and took a bus to Washington, D.C. The group spent five hours exploring the museum and enjoyed lunch together before returning back to campus later that day.
“We do it as an opportunity to get them off campus and to see some real-life things that they may be learning about in their classes,” Melissa Harris, communications and branding director of LU ONE, said.
According to the Museum of the Bible, the Megiddo Mosaic is an exhibit on the 5th floor of the museum and will remain there until July 6, 2025. The mosaic displays the intricate tile flooring of an “early church from a time before Christianity was legally recognized by the Roman Empire,” according to the Museum of the Bible website. Harris recommends that students visit this exhibit while this historic discovery is located just a few hours away.
“My favorite exhibit was the … Hebrew Bible experience,” junior Alvaro Larrea said. “It is so inspiring to see how faith is the only constant that will bring you through the challenges of life.”
