Former Flames basketball forward signs first pro contract

Former Flames Basketball forward Shiloh Robinson is packing his gear and heading across the Atlantic after recently signing his first professional contract to play for CD Póvoa in Portugal.

Robinson will be traveling to Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal, where he will play in the premiere professional basketball league Portugal-Liga Betclic, which is also known as the Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol. The basketball star is originally from Kearney, Nebraska, where he was ranked the No. 2 player in the state.

Robinson played in 163 games during his five seasons with the Flames, and he ended his Liberty career as one of the top 35 rebounders and scorers in program history. Robinson earned two ASUN titles with the Flames, the first in 2020 and the second in 2021. During his last full season with the Flames in 2022-23, Robinson averaged 7.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. 

The court is not the only place Robinson shines; he is a two-time NABC Honors Court recipient, and he made the ASUN Academic Honor Roll four years in a row. Robinson graduated in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in sport management and a minor in psychology. He is currently pursuing his master’s in sport management. 

“I am super grateful for my time at Liberty. It was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life,” Robinson told Liberty Athletics. “I am excited that God has opened a door to play professionally in Portugal. I am looking forward to the new opportunities and experiences.”
