Convocation schedule Spring 2023 is here

Liberty University released the Convocation schedule for this spring, and the list is packed with actors, TV stars, pastors, authors and politicians. It was led by Liberty’s new football Coach Jamey Chadwell.

One of the biggest names on the list is Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in “The Chosen” and will be playing Lonnie Frisbee in the upcoming film “The Jesus Revolution.” Roumie will be speaking at Convocation Feb. 3, along with “The Jesus Revolution” producers, Jon Erwin and Kevin Downes. Roumie was unable to attend Liberty’s spring 2022 College for a Weekend alongside his co-stars from “The Chosen,” so students will hear from him for the first time this February.

The TV personalities making their way to Liberty this spring are Willie and Korie Robertson from the hit reality TV show “Duck Dynasty.” The authors and business owners will speak at Convocation Feb. 24. Madi Prewett Troutt, a Christian who gained national prominence as the runner-up of season 24 of “The Bachelor,” and her husband, pastor and speaker Grant Troutt, will be speaking at CFAW’s Convocation March 31.

Multiple pastors and authors will also grace the Convocation stage this semester. Some include Shadow Mountain Community Church’s lead pastor David Jeremiah on Jan. 25 and Church of the City’s pastor Curtis Zackery on April 5.

Students will also hear from Trevin Wax, author and vice president of research and resource development for the North American Mission Board, on Feb. 8. Hannah Brencher, author, mental health advocate and founder of More Love Letters will speak on March 3, and Christina Meredith, foster care activist, author, speaker and founder of the Christina Meredith Foundation, on April 12.

The university has politicians on the schedule as well, including Attorney General of Virginia Jason Miyares on March 1; Unify Korea Conference with Joseph Kim will be on March 22.

To kickstart the semester, Jamey Chadwell, the new head coach for Liberty’s football program, led Convocation on Jan. 18. (See related story page A7.)

Convocation will continue to be held on Wednesdays and Fridays in the Vines Center at 10:30 a.m. For more information about the Convocation schedule, visit their website
