Softball players from across the nation come to Liberty University
The Liberty softball team played host to new softball players Sept. 3-4 at its annual Prospect Camp.
This camp, held at Kamphius Field, served as a way for hopeful college softball players to learn valuable instruction and game-like play from Head Coach Dot Richardson. Richardson, along with various members of the coaching staff, gave the campers hands-on instruction at their desired position.
In addition, a one-hour intensive on pitching and catching took place. Pitchers were given the opportunity to work with Liberty’s top instructors, including 2021 ASUN Pitcher of the Year Emily Kirby. On top of helping with camp, Kirby will join the Lady Flames’ coaching staff this season as a volunteer assistant coach.
While these prospect camps provide benefit to players all around the country, they also benefit Liberty softball by attracting the Lady Flames of the future.
