Champion’s Choice: Our Picks for Liberty’s Road Trip to LA-Monroe

As Liberty walked off the field with a win against Middle Tennessee Oct. 9, we all looked eagerly at our football predictions to see who came the closest to correctly predicting the score. Turns out we had our first tie of the year. Cameron Satterthwaite and Joshua Lipowski were both four points off from the correct score, so they each get the points differential tiebreaker this week.

At the halfway point in the season, we are all 5-1. Currently, Cameron Satterthwaite and Joshua Lipowski both have two tiebreakers, while Luke Randle and Zac Zehnder have one tiebreaker. If at the end of the season we have a tie, whoever has the most tiebreakers will win.

Luke Randle (5-1)

LA-Monroe’s performances as of late have been putrid, and I expect the Flames to keep the Warhawks at bay with the Warhawks scoring in garbage time to make it seem like less of a blowout.

Liberty 35, LA-Monroe 20

Christian Shields (5-1)

Liberty proved something in the game against MTSU. This team is capable of winning even if Willis has a poor performance. Willis will right the ship on offense and, complemented by a strong running game, dominate LA-Monroe.

Liberty 45, LA-Monroe 10

Jarrett Harper (5-1)

LA-Monroe has given up 40 points in over half its games this season. Liberty’s offense takes advantage of this and leads the team to victory.

Liberty 42, LA-Monroe 14

Zac Zehnder (5-1)

Liberty will have a dominant defensive performance, shutting down the Warhawks offense and keeping them off the scoreboard. Willis, Douglas and the rest of the Flames’ offense will be on fire as well.

Liberty 42, Middle Tennessee 24

Joshua Lipowski (5-1)

Liberty is rolling right now, and the entire team is clicking. Willis will likely not be happy with the three interceptions, and that should mean we get an already focused Willis become hyper-focused on making fewer mistakes. ULM is simply a struggling football team, and Liberty will steamroll its opponent easily.

Liberty 52, LA-Monroe 14

Cameron Satterthwaite II (5-1)

Since the Flames have defeated several teams in LA-Monroe’s conference within the past year, Liberty should cruise to another victory. The Warhawks are currently ranked in the middle of the Sun Belt conference. They will have a hard time containing quarterback Malik Willis.

Liberty 32, LA-Monroe 7
