Champion’s Choice: Our Picks for Football This Saturday vs. Troy
After week one, we are all 1-0. Cameron Satterthwaite II was the closest prediction score-wise, correctly predicting Campbell’s score and only being six points off of Liberty’s total.

Troy did better against their opponent than Liberty did vs. Campbell. The last meeting between these programs was in Lynchburg, but this time it’s on the road. That being said, Liberty will sort out enough kinks and get past the Trojans on the road.

Christian Shields (1-0)
Liberty shone bright in week one with a solid thrashing of Campbell. This week, however, the team will face a much stronger opponent in Troy and will not be able to get away with the same mistakes that the team showed against the FCS Camels. In a much closer battle, the Flames will edge out the Trojans to increase to 2-0.

Jarrett Harper (1-0)
The Troy Trojans should provide a bigger challenge to the Flames in week two. Their defense had four interceptions last week and should provide a test to see how good this Liberty offense is. That said, I don’t think the Trojans offense will be able to keep up.

Cameron Satterthwaite II (1-0)
Both teams have talented offenses, and Troy is carrying momentum after defeating Southern University by 52 points last week. Liberty’s defense will face a challenge, but their experienced quarterback will probably edge the Flames over Troy.

Zac Zehnder (1-0)
Both Troy and Liberty come into week two with momentum after dominant wins. After seeing the depth of both teams in week one, I think Liberty holds the edge against Troy, but not as much as some may think. I think Liberty builds off its last win.

Liberty and Troy both come into this matchup off similar weeks with blowout wins over FCS teams. Both teams likely have things that they want to clean up after week one. With that in mind, talent wins games, and Liberty simply has more talent on both sides of the ball.
