Champion’s Choice: Our Picks for Football This Saturday vs. Campbell

This season, we are spicing things up for Champion’s Choice. Starting next week, our names will have a record, showing how many games we have correctly predicted. For instance, if  I (Luke Randle) predicted seven games correctly but two incorrectly, my name would have (7-2) next to it. Check back each week to see who is winning!

The Flames are in for more of a challenge than people think. Campbell is a strong FCS unit. After a slow start, Liberty will take over and manage the game from there.

Liberty is coming off an impressive 10-1 season and is led by a potential first-round pick in Malik Willis. The Flames should have no problem defeating the Camels in the season opener, but the defense may seem sloppy at times and will not be able to keep Campbell out of the end zone.

Campbell is coming off an 0-4 season, which included a 52-21 loss to Appalachian State and a 43-21 loss to Coastal Carolina. Liberty should have no issues starting the 2021 season off with a win.

Liberty 48, Campbell 28

Due to the Flames’ experience in big games, I think the team will defeat Campbell University this weekend. When both teams played Coastal Carolina last year, the Camels lost by 22 points and Liberty won by three points. I believe Liberty’s momentum from last year’s winning season will carry over to this upcoming game.

Liberty 42, Campbell 7

I think Campbell is toast for week 1 against Liberty. Liberty is carrying tons of momentum coming off of a nationally-ranked season.

Liberty 52, Campbell 3
