Dorm Olympics To Come To Campus

Students will soon face a series of challenges, games, trivia and more as Student Activities (SA) hosts the second annual Dorm Olympics.

The Dorm Olympics will allow teams of students to participate in the activities Saturday, Nov. 1. Each team must be made up of eight members — four men and four women, and must register online by Monday, Oct. 27.

Stephanie Ward, associate director for SA, shared that “the event is
filled with different stations where they’ll participate in fitness challenges, skill games, team challenges and trivia.”

Ward said that more than $800 in prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third-place teams.

According to Ward, 15 teams participated in the event last year, and this year, she hopes to increase the number to 18 while keeping the setting “intimate and competitive.”

“How you form your team is up to you — friends, dorm mates, roommates, distant acquaintances, neighbors — whatever it takes to win, they’ll need to find the right people,” Ward said.

Ward said teams are expected to dress similarly, but the style will be up to each team.

Check-in for the event begins Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. in the LaHaye Multipurpose Center (formerly known as the Schilling Center).
