Residential Technical Studies Associate Program
Get formal training in the high-demand technical trade field with an Associate of Applied Sciences in Technical Studies. With this two-year degree, you’ll understand worksite safety, basic construction math, materials handling, and the skills for seeking and maintaining employment in the trades. Coursework is offered in these trade fields: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or welding.
All courses offered by Liberty’s Technical Studies program are accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). NCCER is an internationally recognized organization in the trades industry. Learn from instructors who are grounded in their Christian faith. All Liberty University Tech Studies instructors have at least four years of experience in their given trade. What sets Liberty University Technical Studies apart is most of our instructors are Master-level experience (state licensure with 5+ years of experience) or above and, in some cases, masters in multiple trades.
Your associate degree in Technical Studies will prepare you for a career as a contractor, journeyman, code inspector, and more. Upon completing this degree, you will graduate with an OSHA 10 Construction Card and NCCER (National Center of Construction Education and Research) credentials in your given trade.
Our two-year program includes foundational education classes and Liberty-specific graduation requirements with practical, hands-on courses in the trades. If you want to further your education after graduating from the associate level, you can request to transfer your courses to one of Liberty’s bachelor’s degree programs. Some technical study courses will be delivered at the Virginia Technical Institute (VTI) in Altavista, Virginia.
Learn How To:
