My friends, let us each be found as God’s Word calls us to be.
Thessalonians 5:8-11 (NIV) describes us as “self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing” (emphasis added).
Also, “do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen” (Ephesians 4:29, NIV).
It is what we hope you will find when you visit our blog: encouragement!
Parent and Family Connections exists to support the mission of Liberty University by sharing information with students’ family and guardians about the resources, programs, and activities available to students on campus. It is what we do! How we communicate while sharing information is as a calling in Jesus Christ, by “whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him…And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men” (Colossians 3:17, 23, KJV). Philippians 4:8 continues whatsoever as in, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
While I described Parent and Family Connections as existing to share information, the office is here also to journey alongside of you, our LU Family, as each of you work, guide, and pray with your students to their success in God’s calling in their lives. It is in this that we endeavor to publish twice a month the kind of content that will encourage your hope in Christ and build up your faith in Him as you journey through the college years with your students.
