God’s Love In Every Step

Whatsoever series:

Of the many things we pray to see in all our students’ lives, loving God and reflecting on his love is high on the list (Mark 12:30-31). It is easy to get caught up in our role as parents, isn’t it? After all, we have focused 16 or more years on preparing our children for this time of their lives – adulthood! We prayed for them to make it. (And if your life was anything like mine, there were days we prayed that we would make it!) Adulting is not easy; parenting is not easy.

1 Corinthians 10:31 tells us that whatsoever we do, do for the glory of God. Even when it is not easy.

God’s Word writes us a prescription for whatsoever we do, and following it improves our lives for His sake and ours!

Look to Colossians 2:6-7: “Let your roots grow down into him (Jesus), and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”

Philippians 4:8: “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

Mark 12:30-31: “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Psalm 119:105: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

God’s truth is the path our feet should always be walking on.

Ask the Lord to write these prescriptions on your heart and in your mind. Let these be your prayers this month so that you too may grow in love with Jesus more and more! And let your steps be measured by God’s love in your life.

May you find yourself to be in the sweetest place you could ever be – the center of God’s will.
