Biography
Dr. Marilyn Peyton teaches courses in Child Development, Theories of Learning, and HONR 395/495. She is currently developing and teaching courses in the MA Psychology program. She joined Liberty University in 1991. She earned a B.A. in Elementary Education and Secondary Math from Marshall University in West Virginia, an M.A. in Early Childhood Education and an M.A. in Educational Administration from the West Virginia College of Graduate Studies, and a Ph.D. in Family and Child Development from Virginia Tech.
She advises the Alpha Lambda Delta and Psi Chi honor societies, is a member of the board of the Liberty Godparent Foundation, and sits on both Faculty Interview Committees and student Judicial Review Boards. Dr. Peyton is a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church and the TRBC Choir. Outside interests include music and her family of children and grandchildren.
Her research interests center around children, a central recurring theme in her professional and personal life. Her greatest professional pleasure is interactions with current and former students and colleagues.
