Biography
Dr. Shannon Pugh currently serves as a core faculty member for the Department of Counselor Education and Family Studies at Liberty University. Her clinical experience includes child, adolescent, adult, family, and group counseling at a bereavement center; working with offenders and victims in a domestic violence intervention and prevention agency; long-term residential addictions treatment; and private practice settings specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as Christian counseling. Dr. Pugh also currently serves as a Chapter Faculty Advisor (CFA) for the Rho Eta Sigma Epsilon Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) Counseling Academic & Professional Honor Society International. Her research interests include academic motherhood and persistence in Counselor Education & Supervision (CES) doctoral programs, counselor self-care and burnout, grief and loss, trauma, attachment, and integration of spirituality in counseling.
