Biography
Dr. Michael Trexler is a counselor educator, supervisor, and clinician located in Indianapolis, Indiana. His clinical orientation is one that focuses on the interplay of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and how these impact the distress a person experiences. He utilizes several therapies in this clinical work, including emotion-focused therapy (for individuals), cognitive-behavioral therapy, EMDR, the Gottman Method, schema therapy, mindfulness and somatic-based approaches, and exposure and response prevention (ERP). His research interests include clinical supervision, anxiety and trauma, group counseling, and creativity in counseling.
