Biography

Dr. Buchanan is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Portland, Oregon, where she counsels individuals, couples, teenagers, and families. She serves people struggling with life transitions, depression, anxiety disorders, and trauma.

Dr. Buchanan’s research interests include childhood emotional neglect, EMDR, human growth and development, attachment theory, God image, and the integration of spirituality and psychology. She is an ordained deacon in the Church of the Nazarene.

Dr. Buchanan is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA), Association Creative Counselors (ACC), American Association Christian Counselors (AACC), Association Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES and WACES), and National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC).
