Biography

Dr. Matthews began her career as a school counselor in 2002 and later became a clinical mental health counselor in 2006. She is a National Certified Counselor, Supervising Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio and a Licensed School Counselor also in the State of Ohio. With over two decades of providing counseling services, Dr. Matthews has worked with students and clients in schools, community mental health agencies, and private practices. She currently owns a small private practice working with late adolescents and adult populations. Dr. Matthews’ research interests include grief and loss, spirituality, and adolescent mental health. She has presented nationally and within the state of Ohio on topics relating to adolescents coping with grief and loss.
