Biography

Dr. Patricia Kimball worked with high risk children and families prior to entering higher education. She was the clinical director at various community-based agencies, developing and supervising programs for children, adolescents, and families. She has experience supervising counselors in training throughout their development, from early graduate school to licensure.

Dr. Kimball’s research interests include ethics, multicultural competence, personal values, and creative intervention to increase counselors in training self-awareness. She is also interested in cross-cultural immersion experiences for counselors in training and the development of a professional counselor identity internationally. She is currently engaged in research focused on counselor education and gatekeeping practices and the effect of faculty/student mentorship on counselors in training professional identity development.

Dr. Kimball currently serves as a Chapter Faculty Advisor (CFA) for Chi Sigma Iota – Rho Eta Chapter and is a trustee for the Association of Creativity in Counseling.
