Beauty from Beneath Exhibition by Monique Maloney

Monique Maloney’s work is inspired by nature and textile design. William Morris, British textile designer and father of the Arts and Crafts movement, was her first design hero. Studying his work sparked an interest in surface and pattern design, which inspired her MFA thesis project, Beauty from Beneath.

Maloney is an award-winning designer, illustrator, and Liberty University professor with over ten years of industry experience. Her journey as an artist began as a child taking watercolor painting lessons from her grandfather on Saturday mornings and creating fabric dolls with her artistic mother. Her two favorite aunts, one a graphic designer and the other a graphic design teacher, inspired her to follow in their footsteps.
