Biography

Dr. Daniel Schmidt serves as an assistant professor of Mathematics at Liberty. He began his career in mathematics and specialized in functional analysis with a focus on problems motivated by quantum mechanics. He has since worked in climate science with a focus on larger-scale atmospheric circulation. After graduate work and a postdoctoral research position in climate dynamics, he returned to Liberty University to teach mathematics.  Today he enjoys teaching mathematics courses at a variety of levels.
