LAMP Literary Magazine

Lamp is an annual literary journal that publishes poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and art/photography from both current and former students of Liberty University. LAMP publishes thoughtful and engaging work that interacts with the fullness of life in their art, including the goodness of creation, the truth of fallenness, and the beauty of redemption.

Submission Guidelines

LAMP is now open for submissions. The due date for all submissions is the last day of classes, Friday, December 6th at 11:59pm.

Email all submissions to lamp@liberty.edu.

  • Writing submissions should be attached as a Microsoft Word document.
  • Photography and art submissions should be attached as a high-quality JPEG.
  • Do not send submissions as links. All submissions must be attached files.

You may submit to multiple genres (fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry), but do not do multiple submissions per genre.

Please clearly label the genre of your piece(s).

Fiction:

1 piece of up to 3,500 words OR up to three flash fiction pieces of 500 words or fewer each.

Creative Nonfiction:

1 piece of up to 3,500 words OR up to three flash CNF pieces of 500 words or fewer each.

Poetry: Up to 3 poems.

If submitting more than one written piece, please ensure that each new piece begins on a new page of the document.


Art/Photography Submissions

We accept photography, digital art, and high-quality photographs of original studio art. We accept art in color and in black & white. Please give each photo a title. One piece will be selected as the cover for the magazine. Other visual art will appear in the digital version of the magazine.

Please submit up to 5 photos. Submissions should be high-resolution JPEGs only. We print in US half-letter size (8.5 in. x 5.5 in.).
