AROTC Clubs & Sports

During your time at ROTC, you may have the opportunity to participate in additional training during the school year and during the summer in order to earn spots in real Army schools such as Air Assault and Airborne. Being part of these teams and schools also gives any cadet a chance to earn OML points and gain an advantage on their peers.

Ranger Challenge

The Ranger Challenge is the varsity sport of ROTC. It involves training nearly every morning in preparation for the annual Brigade Ranger Challenge Competition. The two-day competition involves nine graded events where the team competes to secure the highest score. Liberty University ROTC has always done well at the competition and secured a top 3 finish on four occasions.

Color Guard Team

The Color Guard Team is LU Army ROTC’s drill and ceremony team. The team practices throughout the year in preparation for several events to support the battalion and the community. It requires discipline and professionalism to properly represent the nation and the Army while presenting the colors. Notable events that the team has been involved with include CPAC 2019, Liberty Commencement 2017 with guest President Trump, Liberty Military Appreciation Football games, and more.

Tactical Marksmanship Program (TMP)

The Tactical Marksmanship Program (TMP) is a club made up of ROTC cadets created to practice their marksmanship on multiple weapons systems. We work with LUPD in order to use the onsite gun range and ensure a safe and educational training environment.

Cadet Fund Club

The Cadet Fund Club is the financial wing of the Army ROTC clubs. It involves planning fundraisers, events, and working alongside the community to make a positive impact while the cadets are at Liberty. A big notable event is Rucking for A Reason, a food drive where cadets ruck food donations to the local food bank.
