Biography

In addition to teaching within INDS, Scott Busby serves as the Senior Associate Director at the Center for Student Thriving here at Liberty University. With a background in student development from Abilene Christian University, Mr. Busby’s research focuses on student thriving, the impact of social media, and generational cohort dynamics, notably “safety-ism” in Generation Z. Scott actively contributes to workshops like “Life + Godliness” and has presented at ACSD (Association for Christians in Student Development) conferences, including his 2023 talk, “Greater Purpose – The Foundation for Student Thriving.” He’s preparing an article for the ACSD’s Growth Journal about student social media misuse as a problem of worship. Outside work, he enjoys family time, following the English Premier League, playing racquetball, and exploring the worlds of coffee brewing and science fiction.
