Alumni Spotlight: Dr. Femi Obasun (’23)

Dr. Femi Obasun is a scholar in the medical research field. For 15 years, he served as the Chief Financial Officer at Havasu Regional Medical Center. During his time, Dr. Obasun set out to establish an institution that would provide dedicated healthcare workers and positively impact communities at large.

Though Dr. Obasum has had many educational successes, one more to note, in 2023 he earned a Doctorate of Business Administration – Healthcare Management from Liberty University, where he was a member of the Omega Nu Lambda National Honor Society. 

During his studies, between 2019 and 2022, Dr. Obasun conducted four COVID-19 studies. In 2019, their lab was the first to conduct a positive COVID-19 test. For his work, he was awarded two distinguished scholar awards in 2021, the Distinguished Scholar Award from the American National University and the Distinguished European Scholar Award from The European Community. As an involved and notable member of the healthcare sector, Dr. Obasun is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He sits on the Board of Advisors for SAGE Publications and recently became an editorial board member of the American Journal of Health Research. Lastly, he holds a certification with The National Academy of Best-Selling Authors.

Dr. Obasun’s commitment to education and research serves as a reminder for many to never stop learning. Liberty University is thankful to have Dr. Obasun as a distinguished and successful Champion for Christ in the medical industry.
