Joshua Huesser graduated from Liberty University in 2011 with his B.S. in Social Sciences. He and his wife, Julie, along with their two sons, recently returned to Liberty to visit campus and see all the changes that the university has made. During their visit, the Huesser’s had the chance to meet with Dr. Linda Farver, their former LU professor, and mentor while in school. Dr. Farver played a major role in both Joshua’s and Julie’s lives, encouraging and strengthening them through their time at Liberty.
As a student, Joshua learned how to overcome adversity in his life. He says, “Being able to adapt through life’s challenges has been a key to my growth in my walk with Christ, my family, and professionally as well.” His advice to students and alumni is to lean into failure. “It is that failure that has led to my growth because I keep going!” Joshua highlights three key things to remember regarding failure: 1. Learn from it. 2. Apply it. 3. Keep moving. This advice has kept Joshua from giving up or turning away from the path that God has chosen for him.
Joshua has been selected as a Chick-fil-A Owner/Operator in London, Ontario Canada. This accomplishment comes after working as Director of Operations in Florida Chick-fil-A locations. The position will move Joshua and his family from Florida to Canada.
“When most people hit setbacks, adversity, or failure they give up and stop moving that direction. What I would encourage you to do is keep going! You are closer than you think and are probably just one step, action, or decision away from achieving your dreams! Lean into it and it WILL change your life!” -Joshua Huesser
