UAS Operational Experience

Volunteer your time to support emergency services and law enforcement when you fly for the UAS Operational Experience initiative. The School of Aeronautics partners with a variety of agencies to provide critical aerial situational awareness for preplanned events and emergency situations.

Gain Valuable Experience Through Volunteering
The purpose of the UAS Operational Experience initiative is to provide Liberty University students and employees the opportunity to achieve industry experience for dedicated performance and proficiency in support of various agencies and departments through the use and implementation of unmanned aerial systems.
Volunteer Crew Member Roles Include
- VO – Visual Safety Observer
- No prior experience required, training is provided
- Operator – Manipulator of Flight Controls
- FAA Part 107 certificate required, additional training is provided
- RPIC – Remote Pilot in Command
- FAA Part 107 certificate required, additional training is provided
The eligibility to receive any or all professional recognition is limited to students and employees of Liberty University.
