Biography

Peter was born and raised in Havertown, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. After graduating from Moody Bible Institute’s School of Missionary Aviation, he and his wife served for 13 years with Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) in Indonesia. As a pilot and mechanic, Peter was involved in both missionary and humanitarian work, flying and maintaining the Cessna 185, Cessna 206, and Cessna 208 Caravan.

In 2007, after assisting in the relief, recovering, and rebuilding efforts following the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami that devastated northwestern Indonesia, Peter and his family were granted a one-year leave of absence from their overseas assignment with MAF and were loaned to Liberty University’s Aviation department. In 2008, Peter joined the staff at Liberty University as an Associate Director of Flight Operations. In 2022, he transitioned to a full-time faculty position.

Peter earned his Masters of Commercial Aviation degree in 2011 from Delta State University and has served as an adjunct professor at Liberty University, both residentially and online. As Associate Director of Flight Operations, he was at times the chief instructor for the Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, and CFI courses. Currently, Peter serves full-time in the School of Aeronautics as an Associate Professor of Flight Science and continues to teach online as an adjunct professor.

Peter has been married for over 30 years to his wife, Cheri. They have been blessed with four children and two sons-in-law.
