Biography

David Blanton serves as the Director of the Aviation Maintenance Technician Program of the Liberty University School of Aeronautics. After a 14-year career in sales and sales management in the office equipment industry and 6 years in the non-profit sector, David began his aviation career at Liberty University in 2013. After completing the Aviation Maintenance Technician Program at Liberty, David served as a Missionary Pilot and Mechanic with MMS Aviation for four years. Just before returning to Liberty, David was the Director of Maintenance for MIL2ATP, Inc. and Inside & Out Aircraft Services in North Carolina. Today, David brings his aviation experience and passion for mission aviation to serve as a mobilizer and trainer of Champions for Christ in the field of aeronautics.

Certifications

He holds a Federal Aviation Administration Mechanic’s Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings, an Inspection Authorization, and Commercial Single Engine Land and Instrument Flight ratings.

Professional and Notable Memberships

Member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Mission Aviation, 1st Lt. and Mission Pilot of the Civil Air Patrol, Advisory Council of the Aviation Technology Education Council & Choose Aerospace, member of the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), and the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA).
