Biography
Professor Austin is a graduate of Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance Management. He received his FAA training from the National Aviation Academy and earned a Master of Commercial Aviation from Delta State University. He is an FAA-certified aircraft mechanic with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
Professor Austin brings over thirty years of experience in aviation maintenance to the School of Aeronautics. He served as an avionics technician and a maintenance controller for twelve years in the United States Air Force. He has been serving as an instructor for the School of Aeronautics Aviation Maintenance Technician Program for the last eleven years, having joined the program during its first class of AMTS students beginning in the summer of 2010.
Today Professor Austin focuses mainly on teaching future aircraft mechanics residentially, but he also teaches future aviators online for the School of Aeronautics.
