Biography
Professor Chaverri serves as the Director of Flight Training. He currently leads the flight training team and oversees LUSOA’s primary flight training courses (Private, Instrument, & Commercial). He is driven to see student pilots grow and thrive throughout their aviation education and continually pursues the positive growth and development of the flight training program.
Professor Chaverri was born and raised in Connecticut before moving to Lynchburg, VA, where he graduated from Liberty with his bachelor’s degree in 2015. He then began his professional aviation career as a Flight Instructor at LUSOA, where he has taken on a variety of roles, including check instructor, assistant chief instructor, chief Instructor, and adjunct professor.

Research Interests
Using virtual reality simulators to augment primary flight training. Integrating advancing technology into aviation training. The future impact of unmanned flight on traditional pilot roles.
