Student Employment

You must be 18 years or older to be eligible for employment.

Part-time jobs are available on and off-campus for students who seek to obtain employment through the federal Work-Study program or other student employment. 

There are limited openings for non Work Study students which include the dining hall and any religion department.

Student workers typically will not be permitted to work remotely, the exception to this general policy would be graduate research students who are approved for remote work and graduate students performing tutoring services. Students working remotely must be approved by Human Resources. 

Federal Work Study

Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally funded program that awards up to $5,000 per academic year (Fall/Spring) based on need as determined by the FAFSA.

Federal Work-Study is not a scholarship, but a chance to earn money for college. Please note that Liberty University does not guarantee that any student who qualifies for the Federal Work-Study Program will be given a job. Qualified Work Study students will usually fill most open positions.

The program provides part-time on and off-campus jobs for qualifying undergraduate resident students and can be requested by graduate and online students.

Qualified students:

• Will have completed a FAFSA listing Liberty University’s school code
• Will have completed the verification process if scheduled for verification
• Will have not declined the Federal Work-Study (FWS) program on the FAFSA
• Will have received an Award Letter offering Federal Work-Study
• Will have enrolled in the new academic year
• Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress

You are eligible to apply for an FWS position if it is offered on your financial aid offer. In such cases, you are required to secure employment, a position is not guaranteed.
